Principle #5 – See People Bigger Than They See Themselves

So last week in my blog, I wrote about Daily Inspiration. Every day we are surrounded by inspiration. I want to take this a little further and write about the people in our lives that inspire and motivate us.

We may not even realize how much we are influenced by the special people that lift our spirit and give us strength and stability. When life gets tough, just talking to them helps calm the nerves and re-centers us. They make us feel like we are on top of the world and energized. So, stop and think about the people in your trusted circle. Who do you look to for help when you need a little lift? Most of the time, our beacon of light doesn’t even know how much they help us when we are struggling.

“Make a conscious effort to surround yourself with positive, nourishing, and uplifting people — people who believe in you, encourage you to go after your dreams, and applaud your victories.”
– Jack Canfield

I encourage you to take the time to share your gratitude with these special people. Let them know how they help you find the light during difficult times and thank them for their guidance through making hard decisions. I guarantee you they will feel honored, and your heart will feel warm and fuzzy!

The most influential people in my life are my husband and my sister, Cindy. They both know me so well, and they inspire and motivate me in different ways. I feel so fortunate to have them both in my life!

My husband and I have a deep heart and soul connection. We got married young and, in many ways, have grown up together. We’ve raised a happy family and are now retired and are having fun growing old together. We’ve had bumps along the way, but we’ve always worked through them. He never stays mad at me…after being married for almost 40 years, that still amazes me. He grounds me by calming my nerves and fears. He makes me feel loved and secure. He is my Rock of Gibraltar.

My sister, Cindy, has known me the longest…duh…she’s my older and wiser sister! We’ve always had a bond and have been close. She nurtured me when we were young, even though it wasn’t a fair role for her to play. She has helped me find my inner light and strength by inspiring, encouraging, and motivating me to be the best I can be. She has always believed in me and has seen me bigger than I’ve seen myself. So, when she asked me if I wanted to work with her, I jumped up and down with joy! She teaches everyone around her by how she lives her life. She models love, patience, empathy, trust, and inspiration, and all this, with no judgments. She has a fun-loving personality and is surrounded by light that people want to be around. I’m fortunate that she is my sister and a huge influence in my life. She brings me joy, and I appreciate her more than I can ever say.

I encourage everyone to visit the media page on her website, https://cindyhenson.online/media, and her YouTube channel. And feel her energy and enthusiasm as she shares her message. I’m telling you…it’s contagious! Also, check out her book Jungle: A Journey to Peace, Purpose, and Freedom. It’s an inspiring story of Cindy’s courageous journey of self-discovery while finding a new path from overworked corporate America to a fulfilled life of purpose and passion. You may even find inspiration to start your own journey!

“Inspiration is that state in which mind and heart are connected. When you feel inspired you find yourself thrust into a world where ordinary objects and events are full of light, as if illuminated from within. This inner light is truth, and when you suddenly see the truth, we gain insight, clarity, and joy.” – Deepak Chopra

It’s been quite a year, and many of us have been challenged one way or another, so there’s no time to waste. Surrounding ourselves with positive and inspiring people is great for our well-being. Our spirits are lighter, and we feel happier. So, reach out to your beacon of light for love and guidance through difficult times. Something super cool to think about is that you are someone’s shining light too! And you may not even know it! It sounds like there is a lot of light shining around us…it’s a win, win!

Freedom is possible!

Love,
Deb
