Principle #5 – Grateful for the kindness of others

We have made five trips to Poland since the Russian / Ukrainian war began. People ask us why do you support the Ukrainian refugees in Poland? The first answer was because we can, and they need help. My new answer is that their fortitude and kindness have made me a better person. It is heart-breaking and inspiring every time we have Zoom calls and visit in person.

I thank you so much for the love and financial support you have given the Ukrainian women and children at our community center in Krakow, Poland, in 2023. You have made their lives so much more tolerable as they live through the worst years of their lives.

Mascara warning as you watch this short thank you video from our Ukrainian and Polish staff at the Kocham Debniki Community Center… made especially for you!!!!

We serve over 4,000 women and children monthly with food, clothes, psychotherapy sessions, Polish and English classes, daycare, women’s circles, and workshops to support them as they make a life in their second home. Please check out the new Fundacja Kocham Dębniki website to see photos, stories, and information about those we serve.

We have raised funds through grants and private donations and still find ourselves $100k USD short of meeting our 2024 budget.

If you are looking to financially support a good cause that makes a difference every day in the lives of women and children who have left everything, including their husbands, brothers, and fathers who are fighting on the front line against Russian aggression, please consider donating to our community center.

If you DON’T need a tax receipt, you can donate directly to Kocham Debniki in Poland.

Please keep these dear souls in your hearts. Wishing you and yours a healthy, prosperous, and peaceful 2024!

Love from San Diego,
Dana and Cindy
