Principle #5 – See Your Colleagues and Neighbors Bigger Than They See Themselves

A worldwide pandemic is challenging our Nation. We have been a divided country for many years. Trying to understand what is happening and how we are going to handle this virus has been tough. Getting no information or misinformation has led to panic everywhere. It’s a time for all of us to come together.

The planning at the state and local levels has been phenomenal. Counties and communities all over the United States have been creating plans to help protect their citizens. School districts are closing and offering online instruction.

If you are like me, you’re tired of hearing the negative impact of COVID-19. There are many heartwarming stories across our nation of neighbors helping neighbors. Focusing on the positives can help relieve the feelings of panic and restore the faith of humanity.

“When we all help each other out, when we stand together, we are stronger together.”  – Hillary Clinton

My state has closed schools for at least two weeks. The local school district had a press conference to tell the public what their plan is for our children. The school Superintendent is concerned about the children’s health, but also all employees’ health. She has a plan of how all schoolteachers and staff can still get a paycheck while school is out.

Many children on reduced-price lunches will not be fed if schools are closed. The school cafeterias will still prepare food and the bus drivers will deliver meals to children on their route. Children will be fed, and the staff will be paid.

Communities are coming together to take care of each other. People are opening their doors to offer daycare for children while their parents go to work. Seeing everyone working together sends a strong message of love and hope that we will come out of this pandemic stronger.

We are all in this together. Share your love and help if you are able. I’m so grateful and proud to be a part of this great nation! Stay healthy and be safe wherever you are. Bless you, all!

Freedom is possible when we help each other!

Love,
Deb
